12 Weeks of Christmas Giveaway #1

Also each week I will announcing this week's Handmade Giveaway!

To start off the giveaway series, I thought I'd offer up one of my own pieced applique sets, ready to use on your Christmas craft projects!

This set includes one tree and one stocking cut from 2"strips of 3 different fabrics. The tree measures 9" tall by 7.5" wide, and the stocking 8.5" tall by 7" wide. Each was pieced, drawn and cut by me, and is backed with Steam A Seam, so all you have to do is iron and go! Add some decorative stitching if you want!

This will be an easy giveaway to start off with: just leave me a comment below about one of your favorite holiday memories - doesn't matter what holiday it is, just a favorite memory! And as will always be the case in this series, you can earn more entries by leaving a link to places you've made a shout out about this giveaway - Twitter, Facebook, blog, networking sites, etc. The more shout outs, the more entries!

This giveaway will be open from today through 11:59pm Saturday, 10/3/09. The winner will be announced here on the blog on Sunday, 10/4/09.

I can't wait to hear your memories! Amy

Welcome to the first week of the SewArtsy 12 Weeks of Christmas!

Each year I am overcome with a renewal of the truth that handmade gifts are indeed the best gifts to both give and receive. No matter what the gift is, when I know someone has spent their time, and poured their love and talent into an item, I am so very appreciative. I spend time looking at the details, pondering the process, and thinking about the hands that made it. I’m reminded of the hands that made my cherished birthday and Christmas gifts from my childhood – sewn, crocheted, glued and painted – and hope that my own handmade items are loved by those who receive them.

As will be the case each week, this morning I am announcing this week’s SewArtsy Deal of the Week. This week I would like to offer all of my readers and fans a BOGO sale for the entire SewArtsy Etsy shop! Choose any item, and get any other item of the same or lesser cost free. This BOGO deal will be applied to any purchase made from my Etsy shop 9/28-10/4. A refund will be made to your Paypal account for the purchase price of the lesser cost item. Happy beginning to the holiday shopping season!

Come back again on Thursday, when I’ll be hitting you up with a tutorial for you all to use this season for your own gift-giving.

Happy Monday! Amy
